Rudolph TV special - over 800 years old?

I'm watching the classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer special and I finally noticed something that I apparently always overlooked before.

The special is dated MCLXIV.

Wow! If I'm reading those roman numerals correctly, then the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer TV special was recorded in 1164! :D

It seems that they forgot an M:

MCMLXIV
